“As a result of my parents' work for the US Foreign Service, I was exposed at an early age to prominent artists from various countries who encouraged my artistic development-especially the art of a portrait. I was formally taught this timeless tradition at the International University of Art in Florence, Italy, and later at the Fine Arts Academy, as well as by assisting José Balagueró in Chicago.
Through photographs and conversations, I strive to create a painting which captures the essence of my subject.”
