“I first began observing my shadow while in Venice where I became
aware of the intensity of the sunlight. I found myself staring
down at the reflections in the canals. My shadow would continue
to get in the way and I started to photograph it. The camera
allowed me to explore the shadows and I found new ways
to transform the images into paintings and self portraits.”
